More about the content

Do you know the difference between fine and gross motor skills?

Motor skills allow us to do movements that are part of our everyday life.

Fine motor skills need the smaller muscles of the hand to control movements. We use it to hold scissors and a fork. By developing fine motor skills, kids will perfect their way of holding and pressing objects and the pincer grasp.

You can stimulate kids to perfect their motor skills with plays, cooking classes, and by asking them to pick up small objects with tweezers. Also, slime plays can help their fine motor skills.

Gross motor skills involve great groups of muscles and are usually more energetic than fine motor skills. They include walking, kicking, jumping, and climbing. They also involve throwing balls, for example. You can organize soccer matches to help your students improve their gross motor skills.
