Suggestions of approaches for the teacher

(Approach 1) Students can play the game individually or in teams. Each time they form a pair with the cards and read the small text, ask students to write the main words in topics on their notebooks, which will help them with their reading comprehension.

Example:

  • Nile River

  • Holy River

  • Agriculture

  • Transportation

  • Irrigation

  • Electric power

Then, students must write a small text about the NILE RIVER with their ideas.

(Approach 2) Elaborate a project about which aspects students should learn in different steps and activities about Ancient Egypt.

  • To learn how to locate Egypt on the Globe;

  • Understanding the Nile River was crucial for the Egyptians' survival;

  • To observe how life around the Nile was;

  • To learn about the pharaohs, what they used to wear (clothes, jewelry, wigs), and their importance for the Egyptians;

  • To see the type of clothes they used to wear;

  • To see what Egyptian women used to wear, and about their personalities;

  • To discuss how the they built the pyramids;

  • To talk about the pyramids' location;

  • To learn what mummification is and why they did it;

  • To see the hieroglyphs and understand them.

(Approach 3) Organize a play about Egypt.

(Approach 4) Paint the kids' faces to portray how Egyptians used to wear makeup.

(Approach 5) Watch the video "ANCIENT EGYPT: The Pharaoh civilization.” Available in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_Tbv7anqXk

(Approach 6) Work with Geography teachers on an interdisciplinary project to represent the Ancient Egypt region in maps.

(Approach 7) Promote an interdisciplinary project with the Science and

Geography teachers to build a representation of how the irrigation and agricultural

system worked in Ancient Egypt.

→ (Approach 8) Ask students to build stories in comics about Ancient Egypt;

→ (Approach 9) Elaborate a mural with hieroglyph drawings (students can use their

creativity and invent their own).

→ (Approach 10) Watch the video “The Ancient Egypt - 5 things you should know -
