Teacher’s tips

Level of education: Elementary School

Age: 06 to 08 years old

Over the years, exotic and wild animals have aroused people's interest, and it is increasingly common to find them in the market, in pet shops, breeders, and even through trafficking. Colorful, different, they attract attention, but acquiring exotic animals can have serious consequences. These curious animals should not live outside their natural habitat, in addition they can be dangerous. Working on this issue with children is extremely important for them to disseminate this information.

Suggestions of approaches for the teacher

(Suggestion 1) Ask the children to draw a picture on the book.

(Suggestion 2) Ask the children to write the names of all the animals that appear in the book and then draw a picture.

(Suggestion 3) Ask students to look in used magazines and books for images of animals and ask them to classify into domestic animals, wild animals and exotic animals.

(Suggestion 4) Ask the children if they have a pet at home. Then tell them to tell and draw a story about their pet. If the child does not have any animal, he must create over any one.

(Suggestion 5) Schedule a guided tour of the city's woods or zoo.

More about it

Difference between savannah, wild and domestic animals.

Domesticated animals were born and bred for many generations to live alongside humans, while wild animals did not and still do live in nature, or in their natural habitats.

Wild animals have never been altered by human-directed breeding. Their behaviors, instincts and genetic makeup were shaped by the need to survive in their natural environment.

An savannah animal is any animal that does not occur naturally in a given geographic region and that was brought accidentally or intentionally by man.

Risks of savannah animals

Savannah animals are those introduced in another location, they offer risks to other species, but they may not adapt and die. The absence of natural enemies, food can unbalance the entire ecosystem. The practice of selling these animals should not be encouraged.
