More about it

Types of painting to do with children:

1- Printed painting

How to do it: Paint on a table or any support, then place a sheet on top, press with your hands and then remove it again. You will see that the painting on the table has been inverted onto the paper.

2- Painting with melted chalk

How to do it: Touch the crayon lightly to the candle. Once the wax has melted, use the chalk quickly on the paper, achieving a beautiful embossed effect.

Tip: This technique requires a lot of care and attention because it uses fire. Adult supervision is very important when using children.

3- Faded paint

How to do it: Soak a cotton swab in alcohol or bleach and draw on tissue paper.

Tip: Use papers with strong colors for a better result.

Do not leave children alone handling alcohol or bleach.

4- Painting with crepe paper

How to do it: Cut the crepe paper roll into pieces, moisten it in water and press it on the white sheet.

Tip: If you do it in the classroom, leave little water available to the children and choose strong colors for the best result.

5- Painting on crumpled paper

How to do it: Crumple and uncrumple the paper, then paint over it.

6- String with ink

How to do it: Dip a medium piece of string in gouache paint and then place it on the white sheet. Wait a bit and remove the string.

7- Mirror painting

How to do it: Paint with colored glue or gouache paint, fold the sheet in half and open it again. You will see that the painting will be the same on both sides of the sheet.

8- Painting on the crushed laminate

How to do it: Knead and uncrumple the laminated paper and paint with colored glue on top.

Tip: You can use laminated paper painted with glitter glue to make a treasure.

9- Painting in the newspaper

How to do it: Cut a piece of newspaper and then paint over it with pen or gouache paint.

10- Painting with a sieve

How to do it: Place the sieve on the paper, paint with gouache on top, then remove the sieve and see the result.

11- Sponged painting

How to do it: Cut a sponge into pieces, the size you want, moisten it with gouache paint and press it on the paper. Repeat the activity until you form the painting you want.

Tip: If you use several colors of paint, you need to separate a piece of sponge for each color, so as not to mix.

12- Painting with clay

How to do it: Moisten your fingers, dip them in the clay and draw with them on the sheet. Repeat the activity until you create a beautiful drawing.

Tip: Don't tear off chunks of clay to place on the sheet, just run your fingers through the clay to paint. For a better result, apply white glue over the top to prevent the soil from crumbling after it dries.

13- Painting with cardboard

How to do it: Cut a small piece of thick cardboard and you will see that it is formed by layers. At the end of the cardboard, tear a layer so that the corrugated layer is exposed, as this is what you will be painting with. The corrugated layer of cardboard gives a different effect to the painting.

Tip: If you paint making waves on the paper, the painting will be very cool. You can alternate waves in shades of beige, dark and light blue to illustrate the seabed. Then take the green paint and make vertical waves imitating seaweed, and finish by gluing little fish.

14- Painting with cotton swab

How to: Use cotton swabs instead of brushes. Dip the tip of the cotton swab in the paint and enjoy.

15- Painting with a fork

How to do it: Apply gouache paint to a sheet of paper and then run the tips of the fork lightly over the painting and see how it looks.

16 – Painting with popsicle sticks

How to do it: Take a colored sheet, cover it with gouache of a different color and then make a beautiful design with the popsicle stick. You'll see the color of the paper appear where you swiped the popsicle stick.

17- Secret painting

How to do it: Draw with white crayons or a candle on the white sheet and then apply gouache paint with a strong color on top. The secret drawing will appear on the painting.

18- Drip technique

How to do it: You can develop the technique at home or at school, and you will only need: a canvas or large paper, paints of different colors and tree branches to drip the paint. In the classroom, the work can be collective, but instead of twigs, use pots with a hole on one side and put on calm music for the children to get into the artistic mood. The result is great.

19- Painting with masking tape

How to do it: Glue pieces of masking tape spread out on the sheet, paint with gouache in the spaces where the sheet is left, let it dry and then remove the tapes from the paper.

20- Painting with vegetable stamps

How to make it: Vegetables such as potatoes, carrots and beets can also be art tools. Cut them into the shape you want (smiley face, star, heart, etc.), dip them in ink and stamp the leaves.

21-Painting with twigs from a tree

How to do it: Make a light paint, with gouache and water, then wet a small tree branch and sprinkle it over the sheet of paper.

22- Painting with marbles

How to do it: Take a rectangular cake pan, place a white sheet inside, drip colored paints, place marbles on top and shake the pan slowly so that the balls move over the sheet and the paint. After you paint the leaf, remove it from the mold, let it dry and display your beautiful artwork.

23- Old painting

How to do it: Make a very strong coffee, soak a piece of cotton in the coffee and press it on the white sheet. Repeat the activity until you cover all the paper and then let it dry.

Tip: With old paint you can simulate an old parchment or make a historic mural.

24- Painting with glue and aniline

How to do it: Draw with white glue on the sheet of paper, wait for it to dry and then cover it with aniline. The glue design will stand out on the aniline and give a really cool visual effect.
